As a maid, Amelia Bedelia has multiple duties she must attend to in the home of Mrs. Rogers, however in a play with words and actions, you see how many misunderstandings occur when she takes the duties as their literal meaning instead of what is really meant. Instead of being upset, Mrs. Rogers understands where she went wrong and learns for the next time.
