Love That Dog

Dear Reader,
I know what you’re thinking this book looks boooring and there is no way I will ever want to read it cause I hate poems!!! What you don’t know is that it’s actually an interesting story about a boy who meets his favorite author and becomes inspired to write poetry. The beginning may be a little slow, but then it becomes really, really good. There are many emotions where he learns to express his feelings, especially when he talks about the death of his dog. You may even pick up writing poetry yourself! Come on, you know you want to give it another try!

Hate That Cat is the continuation of Love That Dog where Jack is another year older and continues on with the same teacher. Absolutely Normal Chaos is about a girl who receives an assignment to keep a journal. They are all very similar in where teachers assign them to express feelings towards situations in their lives such as death of the dog and Mary Lou’s enticing summer. The Boy on the Porch is a completely different novel, but has mystery and tons of emotion as the others all do. However, this book isn’t written with assignments but it does talk about how they become a beautiful unique family.
