At the beginning of each chapter there are bold print words that are always very powerful, and lead the reader emotional and anticipating what Melody is thinking. Then entire book has a feeling of being trapped, frustrated, incompetent and seeing life as it is for a disabled person with no means of communication. When she finally finds a way to communicate, you feel a sense of triumph and relief for her. The book definitely puts you in the shoes of others who may be physically disabled or learning disabled. The book definitely teaches you how to be more empathetic to others.
