If you would like to know more information on frogs, then this is the book for you. With vivid pictures and more text features that will help melt any reading teachers heart.
Accuracy & Design: All of the text is factual and contains bigger and bolder text that compliments the photograph that is related it. As well as a factual caption that coincides with the text and photograph. The author constantly uses “scientists” throughout the text as well as avid photographs that show processes, for example the frog jumping into a pond on page 23 which also opens up as a poster. Also, the author provides his experience researching and studying animals in their natural habitat.
Organization: The author includes a glossary for unknown vocabulary and an index to help find certain topics.
Style: The author refers to the reader with “you,” trying to include the reader as part of the nonfiction story. For example, on page 11 when they say they can squeeze out of your fingers when your trying to hold them. The author also asks questions that many students may ask in their heads as they are reading, as on page 26 at the end of the paragraph.
