Rules

As soon as open to the first page of the chapter there are rules which catches your attention and is different because it looks like an actual paper that has been ripped out. Many siblings will be able to relate to this novel, as well as, any child who may have trouble fitting into certain social groups. Reader could learn a lot from this novel like acceptance as Catherine accepted the fact that she will always have to help her autistic brother or friendship as she learns that she would really rather have Jason who may not be the norm as a person rather than Kristi who is popular. A reader can learn to love who they are and that it’s okay to have someone different in their lives. Not everyone is going to accept things the way you choose and you will still be okay or even better.

Lord, C. 2008. Rules. New York: Scholastic.
